How It All Started
Teenage me, sitting in math class, was absolutely fascinated by the numbers dancing across the page. Fast forward a bit, and there I was, deep into business studies, realising just how crucial finance is to making businesses tick. This fascination laid the foundation for my career, but it was my experience as a working accountant that has truly opened my eyes to the transformative potential of AI in our field.
Witnessing firsthand the time-consuming nature of manual reporting and compliance work, I realised that accountants are often bogged down by routine tasks, leaving little room for strategic thinking. I remember thinking…
“There’s got to be a better way!”
With AI’s recent rise to fame, this observation sparked my interest in AI and its applications in finance. I see AI not just as a tool, but as a solution to elevate our profession, allowing us to focus more on driving businesses forward as strategic advisors through data-driven insight, rather than just being number crunchers.
A Bit of A Global Mix
Here’s a fun fact: I’m a Canadian-born, Australian-bred Nigerian. It’s like I’m my own little United Nations! This mix has given me a unique view on finance and AI:
From my Nigerian roots, I’ve inherited a relentless drive for excellence and resilience, pushing me to pursue ambitious goals and innovative solutions.
My Australian upbringing instilled a practical, can-do attitude, emphasising adaptability and a hands-on approach to problem-solving.
Being Canadian has influenced me to value diversity, inclusivity, and ethical practices, ensuring that my work in finance and AI always considers the broader impact on society.
This multicultural tapestry of experiences allows me to approach challenges with a unique, well-rounded perspective, bridging diverse viewpoints and finding innovative solutions that resonate across borders.
Why I’m Excited About AI in Finance
What excites me most about the intersection of AI and finance, particularly in the accounting space, is its potential to transform our industry fundamentally.
Imagine a world where routine tasks are automated, where financial reporting and analysis happens in real-time, where we can predict trends before they happen, and where compliance is a breeze instead of a headache. That’s the world AI is creating in finance, and I’m here for it! AI is not just changing how we work—it’s redefining what it means to be a finance professional.

Life Beyond the Spreadsheets
When ‘m not geeking out over the latest in AI and finance, you’ll find me expressing my creativity through fashion. I have a passion for timeless style, which extends to styling, designing and sewing my own pieces.
Travel is another of my great loves. My goal is to explore the world, starting with Europe, then venturing into the Americas and Asia.
Fitness is an integral part of my life too. Whether it’s the graceful strength of Pilates, the power of kickboxing, or the meditative rhythm of running, I find that physical activity keeps me energised and focused.
More recently, I have been loving exploring the world of property, investing and financial trading (my newest obsessions) and I am super passionate about brainstorming ways to drive change in humanitarian issues facing women and getting involved in charitable projects.
Oh, and here’s a little personal update: I recently tied the knot with my amazing Italian husband in a fairy-tale castle wedding in Northern Italy. Together, we’re dreaming up ways to blend our love for travel, our career ambitions, and our future family plans.
